Canon Rumors, everyone’s favorite website that covers rumors on all things Canon, just announced the company is working on a new full-frame DSLR, the EOS 5D Mark V.
The EOS 5D Mark IV is one of Canon’s most popular full-frame cameras to date, like the Canon 5D Mark III, so it makes sense the company is trying to capitalize on it.
Unfortunately, not all of the Canon 5D Mark V rumors are positive. Canon is expected to unveil a plethora of cameras in early 2020, so it’s expected that the Canon 5D Mark V release date will be late 2020 at the earliest.
As for the Canon 5D Mark V specs, well we are just going to need to wait. The Canon Rumors source didn’t specify anything about what the new full-frame camera will look or feel like, just that we can finally expect the highly-anticipated update.
There are some unconfirmed reports about certain specs of this camera, though, including:
- A 42-megapixel (or more) back-illuminated full frame sensor
- 4K video at up to 60p
- 8 fps continuous shooting
- Advanced Dual Pixel autofocus system
